The Westminster Session will outline the process for selecting the next pastor. A Transition Committee will serve to aid the congregation in the process. The Nominating Committee will select a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to search for our next Pastor & Head of Staff.

Our Process

1. Elect a PNC
The Nominating Committee will select a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to search for our next Pastor & Head of Staff.
2. Draft MIF
Write Ministry Profile Information (MPI). This document will state the mission of WPC as well as describe the life and witness of our congregation. The MPI also sets forth the qualifications and characteristics that are sought in our next Senior Pastor.
3. Search
The MPI is posted on our website and with the PC USA. Recommendations are sought from the Congregation and other external sources. A firm may be hired to aid in the selection process.
4. Review
Continue to accept Personal Discernment Profiles from candidates. PNC begins to review additional information on selected candidates, including sermons. Conduct initial interviews of select candidates.
5. Interview & Selection
Confidentially visit top candidates at the churches. Make reference calls. In-depth conversation. Pray and discuss candidates. Confer with Presbyter to extend call.
6. Nomination & Installation
Call congregational Meeting and vote on recommended candidate. Obtain approval from Presbytery of Middle Tennessee. WPC holds an installation service for the Pastor and Head of Staff.
