Ashley is the Associate Pastor for Young Families. In this role, she provides leadership, support, and pastoral care for the church’s program and mission with the specific demographic of parents with children birth through fifth grade. She works closely with Sophie Maness, our Director of Children’s Ministry, is in relationship with the Westminster School of Young Children, actively participates in Sunday Morning worship leadership, and sees her role very intertwined with the intergenerational community of Westminster.
Ashley grew up in Small Town, North Carlina as a pastor’s kid, and is the only girl of four siblings. She and Jake, her husband, met at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she studied Anthropology and he studied Business and Music. They became fast friends wrangling middle schoolers as youth leaders at their church in Chapel Hill and the rest is history. They have two girls who are in second and fourth grade.
Ashley’s passions lie in helping parents deepen their own faith formation. She is also passionate about the intersection of racial justice and the Church. She spends her spare time cooking in her kitchen, playing board and card games with her kids (she plays a mean hand of Skip-Bo), and slowly growing the garden of her dreams.
