Nurturing the Faith in Person Fall 2021
Fall Into Worship and Nurture Together
Families with children 12 and younger
Beginning September 12, we will have an outdoor worship and learning time for families with children.
We will begin promptly at 9:45 am in the Parlor Courtyard which will be covered with a tent, so we are not weather dependent.
Donovan will be the primary leader. We will explore stories of Jesus’ life.
The first story is about lowering the paralyzed man down through the roof. Where does healing have to occur in your life?
On September 12 we will also hand out third grade Bibles in person.
When we finish the short service, we will have tables set up in Blevins Garden nearby for families to explore the story further.
For example, on September 12, we will be putting together hygiene kits for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance for folks who are recovering from Ida.
At another station, they will put together backpack tags that remind them of God’s peace and presence with them.
We will have another station with simple games about the story, and lastly a spot to make cards for others.
Our model each week will stay the same, worship, followed by centers with activities around the story for that week.
We are doing this for 6 weeks and then will evaluate. This is a short-term solution until we can get back into our familiar routine.
Childcare
- Childcare will be offered every Sunday. We will have four rooms open.
- All of our nursery (consistent and paid) staff will be masked the whole time.
- Children three and older will wear a mask while at church.
- When we can, we will spend time outside, so children do not need to be masked then.
