Thanks to so many people who have already contributed: money, new items, and good & used household goods and furniture. WE ARE PUTTING A HOLD ON PICKING UP MORE FURNITURE until approximately Jan 15-20. . We will schedule a day when we have a truck/storage room. For arrangements, please email jshrago@comcast.net, including pictures of items for pick-up. Items needed either for delivery or for us to pick up: 1) Sofas (not sleepers), love seats and living room side chairs. 2) Kitchen tables and chairs. Please note, we really need to have chairs that ‘match’. 3) End tables, coffee tables and lamps w/shades. 4) Bicycles (for teens or adults) since they have no cars. Used but in working condition. Other items for drop-off: 5) Sheet sets (twins, queens), blankets 6) Towels 7) Basic kitchen pots, pans Items we cannot use: TVs, bed frames, sleeper sofas, bookcases, folding chairs, mattresses. We are not collecting: clothes, personal hygiene items, paper goods, children’s furniture, toys NICE (Nashville International Center for Empowerment) works with Catholic Charities to settle new refugees in Nashville. They take responsibility for finding an apartment and getting adult family members a job. They also help orient the people to Nashville. Items that we cannot use with NICE will be made available to flood victims in Waverly, TN as we can transport items to them.
