February 17
Mardi Gras at Westminster
6:30 p.m. • Dinner • Fellowship Hall
7:30 p.m. • Concert • Sanctuary
Join us for a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper followed by a rousing concert by the Laudate Youth and Westminster Choirs featuring Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass. The choirs will be accompanied by piano, bass, and drums.
This Mardi gras concert is a fundraiser for our two choirs to serve as the choir in residence at Norwich Cathedral in Norwich, England, July 19-25, 2027. The building of this Cathedral began in 1100 A.D. and many of us know the writings of their ancient mystic, Julian of Norwich. The choir will sing Evensong daily and serve as the choir for Sunday morning worship that week. Norwich Cathedral has one of the finest Cathedral choirs in the UK and it is an intergenerational choir with children and youth serving as trebles for the choir. This is a great honor for our choirs, but we do need the help of Westminster to get there.
Please plan now to join us for a delicious and fun Mardi Gras celebration Westminster style, and support our choirs!
Reservations are required. Cost: $30 per person; children 12 and under eat free.
