…we are participating with VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Assisting in Disasters). Hands On Nashville will also let us know when it is safe to aid in hands-on disaster relief. 

…Westminster Home Connection is already gearing up to help people with burst pipes?

…one of our families is hosting two other families and has SEVEN teenagers in the house (with mom who is a nurse) and would LOVE to offer for parents to drop off littles for time to get work done, run errands, have a little break (!). …Camp Marymount has recently opened its doors to all families that need housing, electrical, water, and Wi-Fi? This includes a commercial kitchen. If you’re interested, contact Kelly Moore at 504–458–7448.

…some homeowners insurance policies may cover hotels/alternate lodging when displacement happens because of events like this. Check with yours to see if they do. 

…long-time members, new members, and even visitors have offered to help out by providing hot meals, grocery deliveries, even the use of their washer and dryer?

…Pastors’ Aids, Caring Connections teams are giving updates on members?

…congregational Care teams are still reaching out to people even though they may not have power themselves?

…independent living and Care facilities are being staffed by amazing people who are making sure meals are provided and no residents go without what they need?

…when you go with your mom and pastoral visits you provide phone technical support?  Way to go John Boaz? 

…it can take the organ 2-3 days to warm up after power is restored? Even if it is not fully warmed up, it will be slightly out of tune, but it is still useable?

…the pastors are receiving texts, emails and calls from members who are concerned about others without power?

…youth, youth staff, confirmands, and mentors  have been checking in on one another?  

…Donovan has been wearing bib overalls that smell like firewood and gasoline for six days?  #trendsetter 

…staff have been receiving emails and texts from members as to who has warm rooms and who needs a warm room?

…it is too messy to deliver Communion at Home this weekend, but everybody on the list is being contacted anyway?
