Join Westminster Young Families for a fun weekend spent enjoying nature and each other at Montgomery Bell State Park. Whether you’ve backpacked your entire life or this will be your first camping trip, welcome! We will be spending the weekend at Montgomery Bell State Park and car camping. Optional activities include hiking, a playground, roasting marshmallows over a fire, family games, and more. We’ll have a potluck and s’mores on Friday and Westminster will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and s’mores on Saturday evening.

When:
We have reserved campsites October 16-19, but there are no activities planned for October 16. Most families will arrive on October 16, but reserving campsites from October 16 allows families to arrive at any time during the day Friday and avoid setting up camp in the dark. Campsites will be assigned ahead of time. Check in is after 4 pm on Thursday and check out is by noon on Sunday.
Food:
Breakfasts/lunches/snacks on your own, Friday potluck dinner (sign-ups coming later), Saturday hamburgers and hot dogs provided by Westminster
Dogs:
Dogs who are well behaved and friendly with other dogs and children are welcome to come, but must be with you and have appropriate leashes/leads/collars.
Gear:
Many families have said they have extra gear they’re willing to lend for the weekend, so if you are missing something, reach out and we will do our best to make sure everyone has what they need. There are many places that rent camping gear as well.
