All Saints’ Communion Sunday
November 3 | Morning Worship
At the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services, we will unite in communion with all the saints on earth and in heaven. The names of those Westminster members who have died in the past year (as well as any others whose memorial services occurred here) will be lifted up. There will also be the opportunity to lift up those saints on our own hearts, in silence or aloud, as the bell tolls.
Together, we give thanks that “nothing, not even death, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesusour Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39, par.)
All Saints’ Service Of Remembrance
November 3 | 3 pm
A remembrance service will be held outdoors in the Parlor Courtyard, providing the opportunity to remember all our loved ones in the great cloud of witnesses. Through liturgy, meditative music, scripture and prayer, the ringing of the bell, the lighting of candles, and the sharing of communion, we will remember and give thanks for the lives of the saints.
• Names to be lifted up will be received ahead of the service, 2:45 – 3 p.m., or by sending names to Rev. Heidi Hudnut-Beumler, hhudnutbeumler@nashvillewpc.org.
• You are invited to bring a photo of your loved one(s) to this service to place on the worship table or to hold. In case of rain, the service will be held in the Chapel. The Congregational Care Bereavement Ministry is the sponsor of this service.
• If you are in need of support, grief resources or referrals, please contact Heidi. In addition, the grief resource library of the Bereavement Ministry Team is housed in her office for sharing.
An Evening Hymn Festival For All Saints’ Sunday
November 3 | 7 pm
- Westminster Choir, Brass Quintet, percusion
- Sam Levine, clarinet | David Angell, violin
- Dale Nickell, organist
- Dr. John Semingson, Director of Music Ministries
Plan now to join us for this participatory musical service featuring familiar hymns of the Christian faith. These are hymns we all love to sing. Hymns like “For All the Saints”, “Hymn to Joy”, “Love Divine”, “All Creatures of our God & King”, “How Firm a Foundation”, and a very lively arrangement of “When the Saints for Marching In”. All our singing will be accompanied by our Easter brass quintet, percussion, clarinet, and violin. The choir will also sing a beautiful new anthem on the poem, “We Remember Them.” It will be an inspiring night of worship through singing along with poems, readings, and scripture offered by our clergy. Bring your singing voice! All are welcome!
